MHAM goes Hawaiian…

In a season where Christ is the reason for the celebration, the MHAM CM Employees’ Christmas Party 2016 was held at the MHAM Audio Visual Room last December 15, 2016, making it a fabulous Hawaiian theme year-ender celebration.

Started at 11:00 in the morning, this year’s Christmas Party was well-celebrated by the members of the Faculty, Administration, Non-Teaching Staff and Security and General Services.

Dr. Annette Salillas in her welcome address expressed gratitude for everyone’s presence not just for the Christmas celebration but throughout the year or months with MHAM, for a great year, for a great team, for a great purpose and for a great mission.

“2016 has been challenging but as one great family we survived from tough decisions coupled with sacrifices and determination to beat those challenges with faith and in faith, because WEAREMHAM”, said Dr. Salillas.

And the winners are, Dr. Carlito Astillero and Ms. Maris Latorre for the Best Hawaiian Attire (Male and Female)

Wearing a variety of Hawaiian-related clothings vying for the Best Hawaiian Attire award, the MHAM employees enjoyed the half-day year-ender event in a colorful Throwback Thursday with fun and enjoyment.

The Launching of MHAM Hymn  was also highlighted followed with a special presentation from one of the Wizard of Oz casts and MHAM’s youngest doctor-professor, Dr. Jan Michael Lao. Finding his second home in theater this year, Dr. Lao soulfully charmed the MHAMian employees through his rendition of “A Wedding Home”.

Group presentations, parlor games, karaoke sensation contest and the much-awaited part, the minor and major raffle draws added much color and fun during the annual celebration.

In his inspirational message, Dr. Carlito Astillero stressed the importance of the Christmas season in honor of Christ’s birth by means of gift-giving, forgiving, sharing, loving and educating one’s mind and heart. He could have won a flat screen television as one of the three major prizes but he opted to take another draw and gave the prize to a lucky winner instead.

Dr. Carlito Astillero and Dr. Arlene Diaz in their joyous moments…

As the season is the best time for gift giving, all MHAM employees received minor gifts while  three lucky winners brought home the major prizes.

This year’s major prizes includes a water dispenser, flat screen television and a refrigerator.

“Paminaw nako murag ako ang pinakaswerte sa tanan sa dihang nag raffle draw ug daku akong pasalamat sa Ginoo sa maong grasya” (I felt like I was the luckiest person during the raffle draw and I am so grateful to God for such blessing), shared Ms. Editha Villaflor of the General Services who luckily brought home the refrigerator as the grand prize.
