MHAM CM’s Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Department Chair, Dr. Annette Salillas on her “Interesting Common and Not-So-Common Variants of Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma (PTC)” lecture-presentation<\/p><\/div>\n

MHAM CM\u00a0Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Department Chair, Dr. Annette Laurente Salillas once again set foot in Thailand as a lecturer during the 24th Thai-Japanese Workshop in Diagnostic Cytopathology last January 18-20, 2017 at Holiday Inn Pattaya, Chonburi, Thailand.<\/p>\n

Dr. Annette Salillas, who globally represented the country for several years now in Cytology, presented her topic and valuable insights on “Interesting Common and Not-So-Common Variants of Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma (PTC)” before the participants.<\/p>\n

“It is always fulfilling with a sense of commitment in imparting your knowledge and experiences to people who are in the same field. My lecture enabled\u00a0them to\u00a0know the criteria in diagnosing the different variants of \u00a0PTC and to be able to diagnose the common and not-so-common PTC variants with aggressive behavior”,\u00a0<\/em>said Dr. Salillas.<\/p>\n

Organized by the Thai Society of Cytology, Institute of Pathology, Japan’s Nippon Medical School and Japanese Society of Clinical Cytology, the said workshop was well-attended by almost a hundred Thai-Japanese cytopathologists in Asia.<\/p>\n

This MHAM CM product was\u00a0among the four international speakers and experts in the field of Cytology including one from Australia,\u00a0Johns Hopkins Hospital-Maryland and National University Hospital-Singapore.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, MHAM CM Thai alumnus and Thailand\u2019s International Academy of Pathology President, Dr. Anant Karalak also graced the event\u00a0with his topic centered on “Innovation of Cyto-Pathologists Screening”.<\/p>\n

A gathering of cell-lovers and cytology enthusiasts,\u00a0the three-day workshop ended with a unified set of schedule for next year’s Thai-Japanese Workshop which will be held on the third week of January. “Next year’s workshop will be grand on the occasion of its 25th year to be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand”, <\/em>she <\/i>concluded.<\/p>\n

Known as the\u00a0lone Interventional Cytopathologist in the country and who always took\u00a0part of several international conferences, Dr. Salillas is set to foot in Boston, U.S.A. on March this year with MHAM CM Dean, Dr. Arlene Diaz.\u00a0(Ana Liza Abao)<\/strong><\/p>\n
