Ena Louise Velasco, a 22 year old medical student and sports enthusiast, didn’t let the fact that she wasn’t a heavily cheered on candidate faze her composure as she went on to be declared the 46th Miss Mandaue winner during the coronation night held Thursday evening at the Mandaue Sports Complex. The tallest among this year’s finalists at five-foot-nine, Velasco also snagged awards for Best in Fun Wear, Best in Runway, and Best in Evening Gown. Putting her height advantage to good use, she has been leading an active lifestyle with a stint as a former volleyball varsity player. She also dabbles in softball, badminton, track and field, and has recently took up basketball.
