MHAM officially installs new College Dean and Vice President for Academic Affairs

Two MHAM faculty-doctors were officially installed for the Vice President for Academic Affairs and College Dean posts on the occasion of the 67th Investiture and Commencement Exercises at the Grand Pacific Ballroom, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino last June 15, 2017 in the afternoon.

Former College Dean, Dr. Arlene Maceren-Diaz, formally turnover the responsibilities to Dr. Ma. Socorro Gatchalian-Manaloto, becoming her as the new College Dean while the former was appointed as the new VP Academics.

Designated by the MHAM CM President and Chairman of the Board, Mrs. Elma Aznar Sierra, the symbolic Turnover and Installation Ceremonies was being witnessed by the two hundred nine Batch Elixir graduates, parents, sponsors, friends and guests.

Gracing the momentous ceremonies was no other than the MHAM CM Chairman of the Board of Trustees and President, Mrs. Elma Aznar-Sierra, who appointed the two foremost designations.

“By the virtue of power vested upon me by the Board of Trustees, I now formally install you with all the rights, privileges and responsibilities. By accepting these tasks, you accept the charge to serve with dedication, energy, mission and integrity”, said the MHAM successor-educator whose persistence, dedicated hard work and able leadership made MHAM CM strived and somehow managed to stow away from a lot of challenging situations and trying times.

As Dr. Arlene Diaz accepted her appointment and duties for VP Academics, she, in turned, officially turnover the seal of authority to Dr. Ma. Socorro Manaloto as the new College Dean. Dr. Diaz has been serving as the College Dean for nine years prior to her new designation.

“I hereby turnover this seal to Dr. Ma. Socorro Gatchalian-Manaloto. Please use it righteously with determination, compassion and understanding. Accept this seal with authority. May God bless and help you in all your undertakings”, said the former Dean.

In response, Dr. Ma. Socorro Manaloto, accepted the seal as a symbol of authority towards her responsibilities and commitments as the new College Dean.

“With the mission, vision, goals and objectives of MHAM, it is my covenant to use it righteously with courage, humility, determination, compassion and understanding”, said the former Chief of Clinics for fifteen years.

These alumni-faculty members are both pillars towards academic excellence that MHAM has been known for, and they look forward to further enhance the teaching methodologies, coaching and evaluate techniques, prompting them to enroll in the Masteral Program of Master of Arts in Health Professions Educations.

WEAREMHAM: Officially Installed MHAM mavens of the field

Having been officially designated and installed in their respective posts, they are now also in preparation of the school’s intent to offer three (3) additional degree programs namely; BS in Medical Technology, BS in Biology and BS in Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) which will be offered by the academic year 2018. The BS in DRRM will be the very first degree program in the entire Central Visayas region.

Over the years, the MHAM faculty members are always committed to provide quality medical education and in just four years from its separation from the main SWU campus, MHAM has produced four board topnotchers in three consecutive years. Needless to say, for several decades, a number of nameless thousands who, in their indomitable spirit have excelled in the medical field and lived life to the fullest as dedicated MHAM alumni-physicians. (Ana Liza Abao)
