Gracing the event with her inspiring message, this MHAM topnotcher ignited their spirit as she congratulated them for the proud moment, the milestone, the product of their hardwork and perseverance and their parents’ relentless support. She reminded them that graduation day is the joint effort between the graduates and the members of the family or sponsors who supported their studies, and most of all, the day will finally covet the two most expensive letters, which a very few people are privilege to have after their name, the certified “MD”.
“When I was asked to be your speaker, I felt that the task is a bit heavy for me, given my neonatal career. I think I am too young and lacking in many ways to inspire. Like you I still have much to learn as a doctor and as a person. But those few years under my belt has given me some personal insights about how it is being in the noblest profession. To be a doctor is to be open or shall I say committed to life-long learning. We’ve been in school most of our lives only to realize that despite all that we have learned, the human body remains by and large a mysterious thing with many secrets yet to be uncovered. Unique to our profession is that during the course of our duty, it just comes naturally that we involve all of our faculties– physical, mental, emotional and the moral aspect“, said Dr. Tabigue.
The pledge of loyalty to Alma Mater was led by the Board of Trustees and Corporate Treasurer, Dr. Carlito Astillero, who is the lyricist of the MHAM hymn.

In an interview with Dr. Daniel Panaglima, who was also a recipient of the Dean’s Medallion for Outstanding Researcher of the Year aside from being a Cum Laude, he cheerfully shared that those sleepless nights have been paid off and the inspiring advises from the many individuals compelled him to strive hard with dedication.

“First of all, I gave all credit to God because without Him I can do nothing but rely on Him. Medicine is a tough course and for an Adventist like me who, every Saturday pays reverence for the Sabbath day, I still made it especially on this rewarding day. I am very grateful to all the valuable people who supported me from the very start especially to my beloved family and every single penny spent is a sacrifice for them”, said Dr. Panaglima who is planning to specialize either Pediatrics or Internal Medicine in due time.
To complete their most-awaited day, the two hundred nine Elixir graduates rendered their graduation song titled, “We Are Here For Service”, originally composed and arranged by Dr. Stephanie P. Ong and Dr. Aldin D. Piamonte.

Named after elixir, a sweetened and aromatic solution of alcohol and water containing or used as a vehicle for medicinal substances, the Batch Elixir, or elixir of life, is believed to be capable of prolonging life. Anchored in excellence and rising firm before the world that awaits them, Batch Elixir graduates can now proudly say, WEAREMHAM! (Ana Liza Abao)
