In her welcome address, Dr. Arlene Aquino Perez, who was also the event main organizer, expressed her gratitude to all her batchmates who were there to celebrate the gift of one another after twenty-five fruitful years.
“I am really happy and thankful that you considered tonight’s homecoming as an important milestone in your life because your mere presence speaks volume already. You really find time to come here to grace the event. Life is short and we should invest some of our precious time building friendships because these are priceless”, said Dr. Perez.
In an interview with the event main organizer, she blissfully shared that the planning was materialized in an instant where some of their former batchmates who are based from abroad took to flight in no delay just to be present for the momentous event.

“We are here gathered with our batch to enjoy each other’s company and we are trying to continue the camaraderie that we have five years ago, from our previous reunion. We just tried to build our friendship with a dinner, just in a closed-group and a time to reconnect once again”, said Dr. Perez.
Celebrating the 25 years as MHAM CM products, majority of those who came were from Mindanao, Manila, Cebu, and Negros while those who were out of the country like U.S.A., Dubai, and Mexico made their celebration more meaningful and significant.

“We are happy to see you for being cohesive as a batch and who identified your Alma Mater despite of the split. MHAM tried to move on and focuses now on the academics and since 1990s, we conducted reviews of interns for free with hired faculties outside Cebu City, resulting to increasing high passing rates over the years. We have produced board topnotchers who were all academic scholars, for three years in a row”, said Dr. Librando.
He also purposely gave the updates of how MHAM continued to soar towards academic excellence and with the all-out effort to transfer this year at the new ten-storey school building in Banawa, Cebu City.
To make their reunion more enjoyable and entertaining, all of them sprung to the dance floor not just to show their groovy moves but to ignite and instill their spirit that they are forever young regardless of age.

Forever young…
Meanwhile, the distribution of medallion with tokens to all batch ’92 MHAM graduates who were present became a highlight of their fellowship, thus, making it a night to remember along the years.

In an interview with Dubai-based, Dr. Mila Camacho Elona, she cheerfully shared that going home for a significant purpose is a must.
“This occasion is very relevant to all of us who came from different regions in the country and even from abroad, marking our silver jubilee. Despite our distances, we are reunited again after twenty-five years and it made us reconnected after our graduation day. Tonight, we got to know each other more and more and we enhanced our friendship, even on referrals of patients in terms of our practices”, said Dr. Elona.

“When it comes to foundation, I am proud to be a MHAM graduate. If not because of my school, I will not be a radiologist now. It molded me to become a doctor not only of yesteryears but a revolving doctor for the future like you have to learn every now and then to keep up with the practice that you are going to do”, concluded the versatile MHAM alumna who is practicing as a radiologist and is specializing in Female Radiology for three years now in Dubai.
In addition, a video presentation from their Alma Mater with its history and updates added color to their merriment.

A night to remember…

MHAM alumnus, Dr. Sammy Balo, in his closing message…
In his closing message, MHAM alumnus, Dr. Sammy Balo suggested that they have to meet every after five years to continue their comradeship along the years.
“When we watch a movie, the best part to talk about it is when both of you have watched the movie. In the same way, our past can be retold when all of us are part of it and nobody can take it away from us. How will we nurture it? By doing this regularly. I suggest we should do this every five years until we die. Yes, we all die but before we die, we should do this every five years at least. I would like to share this thought that in life, the first twenty-five years as the first phase should be created for a foundation and that includes our years of studies in medicine with sweet memories to share to our families”, said Dr. Balo who was the class president of batch ’92.
