Yes, WEAREMHAM: Students taking turns in exercising the right to vote
The MHAM CM Student Body successfully held its Election Day last March 1, 2017 at the MHAM Extension Library from eight in the morning until four in the afternoon.

MHAM CM students casting their votes…
Out of eight hundred sixty students population from first to third year levels, a total of seven hundred seventeen student-electors have engaged this year’s studentry poll and casted their votes for the S.Y. 2017-2018 new set of officers.
Bearing their respective proposed projects and point plan lists, three opposing parties including one independent candidacy vied for the next Student Council Governor together with their member-candidates. They were Keren Eulyna Bicar from the IMPETUS (Idealistic. Motivated. Passionate. Empowered. Transparent. Unified. Service.) party, Amer Hussein Domado from the VOX (Voice of Excellence, Voice of Students) party and Louie Lopez as an independent candidate.

Members of the Electoral Board at the voting area
According to one of the members of the Electoral Board, Basille Elaine Baliling, the counting of ballots started at 4:30 in the afternoon and ended at 10:00 in the evening.
“It was a signifying students activity as a venue to express one’s freedom to choose representatives or leaders to govern the whole studentry”, said Baliling.

And in unison, they wrote history…
This year, foreign and local students took the voting and electoral process very seriously and supported their chosen parties especially during the election campaigns.
As a good sport means being a good winner and as well as being a good loser, victorious candidates were proclaimed as the new set of officers for the S.Y. 2017-2018. They are as follows: Louie Lopez as Governor; Amer Hussein Domado as Executive Vice-President (Appointed); Andrea Marie Tortugo as Internal Vice-President; William Tiu Jr. as External Vice-President APMC-SN Representative; Hanan Doro as Secretary; Mary Louise Sereno as Auditor; Irish Lontoc as Treasurer; and Marco Lope, Hisham Guinar and Antonio Miguel Reyes as Public Relations Officers.
The new set of officers will be leading the whole MHAM studentry and are expected to continue to empower and create more effective leaders in the future. (Ana Liza Abao)
